DOL Knowledge Testing
Washington State requires you to pass a total of FOUR TESTS to get a two-wheel motorcycle endorsement; a permit knowledge test & riding skills test and an endorsement knowledge written test & riding skills test.
You must have a permit or have passed the permit knowledge and riding tests to take an endorsement test. The first step is to take the knowledge exam below or sign up for a class.
The Washington Permit knowledge test is comprised of 25 multiple choice questions on rules of the road and motorcycle safety. The endorsement knowledge test is 50 multiple choice questions.
A three-wheel endorsement requires one knowledge test and one riding skills test. The three-wheel knowledge test is comprised of 25 multiple choice questions on rules of the road and general motorcycle safety, including some three-wheel specific questions.
The content for all knowledge tests come directly from the Washington Motorcycle Operator Manual. A passing score on all knowledge test is 80%.
